OPI Nail Lacquer in Pale To The Chief OPI and Kerry Washington Create OPI Washington DC Nail Collection

Actress Kerry Washington as well as the character she plays on ABC’s TV series “Scandal”, Olivia Pope illustrate the essence of the Nation’s Capital of women: Bold, powerful and a force to be reckoned. And since she inked a deal with nail brand OPI to be the company’s creative ambassador, we knew her love for nail lacquer that is evident on the red carpet would morph into something brilliant. Kerry Washington has partnered with OPI co-founder and creative director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann to design 15 nail shades for fall inspired by the District, called OPI Washington DC that will hit counters on August 4. OPI Washington DC nail lacquers retail for $10.00 each and all shades will be available in both Nail Lacquer and Gel Color formulas. The collection features catchy titles such as Shh. It’s Top Secret, Never a Dulles Moment and Madam President. “Nail color is a simple but impactful form of individual expression, “ noted Washington. “Wearing bold shades like these is empowering and uplifting, not to mention a perfect way to show some election year spirit!” OPI Washington DC collection features 12 permanent and 3 limited-edition colors bearing Washington’s stylish stamp of approval. Take note, this is not a scandal collection, like the collaboration Washington did with the Limited. It is more of a personal one as she even named one of the shades after her daughter, Isabelle, called Inside the Isabelletway, a caramel crème colored lacquer. Kerry Washington wanted to make sure the collection included nudes that represented her, and women of color such as Pale to the Chief, a light nude, Squeaker of the House, a chocolate brown, and Yank My Doodle, a tawny copper. Other standouts include CIA= Color is Awesome, a dusky blue for secret agent fashionistas, and Suzi- The First Lady of Nails, a chic olive green.
