Oscar-Themed Cocktails To Celebrate Hollywood’s Biggest Night

Where will you be watching Hollywood’s biggest night? Remember, The 90th Annual Academy Awards ceremony will be held this year on Sunday, March 4. Whether you will be attending a Red Carpet preview party, sipping specialty cocktails at one of New York’s hottest dining spots, or hosting an Oscars-themed party, here is our list of glamorous cocktails to sip and fête The Oscars.

Enjoy the triple threat cocktail line-up at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse. On Sunday, this NYC fave will be serving Hollywood-themed delicious cocktails designed with three of the most talented actors in mind: The Margot Robbie features Cognac, Mint Leaves, Pulverized Sugar, Fresh Berries, Crushed Ice and Sliced Lemon. A Meryl Streep includes Prosecco, Aperol, Seltzer and Sliced Orange. And The Daniel Day-Lewis incorporates Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Sweet Vermouth, and Bitters.

Swamp Fizz (Inspired by The Shape of Water)

Ingredients:

  • 2 Oz. Gin
  • 1 Tsp. Green Crème De Menthe
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 Tsp. Superfine Sugar
  • 1 bottle of Fever-Tree Club Soda
  • Garnish: lime zest

Method:

Add gin, crème de menthe, lemon juice, sugar and egg white to your shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into Collins glass over ice and top with club soda. Garnish with lime zest.

Flightless Bird (aka Kiwi Punch) (Inspired by Lady Bird)

Ingredients:

Serves 8

  • 2 cups kiwi, peeled and diced
  • 12 mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 limes, juiced
  • 2 cups vodka
  • 2 cups Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water
  • ice cubes
  • 1 kiwi, thinly sliced for garnish
  • Garnish: Star fruit slice, mint sprigs

Method:

In a pitcher, combine diced kiwis, mint leaves, sugar, and ½ lime juiced. Muddle the contents until fully combined. Fill the pitcher with ice and top off with vodka and tonic water. Stir, pour into eight tumbler glasses over ice making sure each glass receives equal amounts of kiwi and mint leaves. Garnish with a star fruit slice and mint sprig.

Açaí You, Tonya (Inspired by the film I, Tonya)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Van Gogh Açaí-Blueberry
  • ½ oz. simple syrup
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 10 blueberries
  • 1 bottle of Club soda

Method:

Muddle mint, berries and simple syrup in a shaker. Add ice, vodka and lime juice. Shake well and strain into ice-filled highball glass. Top with club soda. Garnish with mint sprig.

The Paradiso (Inspired by the film Call Me By Your Name)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Van Gogh Oranje Vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Rossi d’Asiago Limoncello
  • 1/2 oz. Aperol
  • 1 oz. fresh orange juice

Method:

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a floating orange wheel.

The Rusty Sail (Inspired by the film Darkest Hour)

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Old Pulteney 12 Years Old
  • 1 oz. Stroma
  • 2 dash orange bitters

Method:

Add all ingredients over cubed ice in glass, stir very well and garnish with an orange twist.

Blood & Sand (Inspired by the film Dunkirk)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Speyburn Arranta Casks Single Malt
  • 1/2 oz Cherry Heering
  • 1/2 oz Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 oz Orange Juice

Method:

Shake all ingredients very, very well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Bleeding Heart (Inspired by the film Get Out)

(serves 6- 8)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Van Gogh Pomegranate
  • 1 750ml bottle LBD Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • I orange sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 12 oz club soda

Method:

Combine all ingredients but club soda in a large bowl or pitcher and chill. When ready to serve add club soda, stir, and pour into individual glasses.

Rouge Plumage (Inspired by the film Lady Bird)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Van Gogh Vodka
  • 3 oz. Fresh Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
  • 1/4 oz. agave nectar
  • Top with Sparkling water or Sparkling wine

Method:

Add ingredients directly to a highball glass with ice and roll back and forth twice. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

The Perfect Silhouette (Inspired by the film Phantom Thread)

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. of LBD Pinot Grigio
  • 1 oz. of Triple Sec
  • .75 oz. of simple syrup
  • .5 oz. of grapefruit juice

Method:

Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake hard, and pour into stemless wine glass. Garnish with mint sprig.

Hemingway (Inspired by the film The Post)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Ron Abuelo Añejo
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 teaspoon Maraschino Liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon Grapefruit Juice

Method:

Shake ingredients with ice, and strain over crushed ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Don’t Ask Rye (Inspired by the film The Shape of Water)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. TAP 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whisky
  • 1/4 oz. Honey Syrup
  • 2 oz. Lemonade

Method:

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass and serve with an ice sphere.

Pink Passion (Inspired by the film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, MO)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka
  • 1 oz. cranberry juice
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. apple juice

Method:

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir well with ice. Strain over fresh ice into two tall glasses. Garnish with an apple slice.

Berry and Sage 75

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz. Koskenkorva Vodka
  • 5 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 5 oz Simple syrup
  • 3 Blackberries
  • 2 Sage leaves
  • 3 oz Chilled champagne

Method:

Muddle 2 blackberries in tin. Lightly roll 1 sage leaf between your hands and ad to tin. Shake long and hard, then top with 3oz of champagne. Fine strain into a champagne flute and garnish with 1 blackberry and 1 sage leaf.

“3 of a Kind”

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce Armagnac
  • 1 ounce Maurin Quina
  • 3/4 ounce Plum Manzanilla Sherry
  • 1 bar spoon Benedictine
  • 1 dash Saline
  • 3 dashes Scrappy’s Chocolate Bitters

Method:

Stir and strain into a Nick & Nora glass, then garnish with a dried & lightly salted Japanese plum.

Slaughter Country Cocktail”

Stir, strain, & serve up in a martini glass. Finish with ground black pepper to garnish.

Timshel Cocktail”

Shake hard & double-strain into a rocks glass. Top off with fresh ice and garnish with a small section of pomegranate.

Crystalized

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. Crystal Head Vodka
  • 1 oz. St-Germain Elderflower Liquer
  • 3 oz. Prosecco
  • 1 fresh lime

Method:

In a shaker filled with ice, add Crystal Head and St-Germain. Shake well and strain into a stemmed glass.. Slowly top with Prosecco and finish with a squeeze of fresh lime. Garnish: Thin slice of lime

Night Cap

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. Crystal Head Vodka
  • ½ oz. Caffe Borghetti
  • 1 freshly brewed espresso shot
  • Chocolate shaving or coffee beans

Method:

Pour Crystal Head, coffee liquer and espresso into a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously to create froth then strain into a martini glass. Garnish: Chocolate shavings or finely crushed coffee beans
