Zac Posen has continued his role as Creative Director for the Brooks Brothers Women’s Fall 2016 Collection and we are so delighted. Posen celebrated the traditions and appeal of the brand by creating a collection that illustrates the modern Brooks Brothers woman. She is classic and chic. The collection displayed an array of fabrics from rich camel hair to lush velvet in new shapes. The color palette was filled of hues of burgundy, black, camel and olive green. Daywear included dresses and separates making it easy to mix and match sometimes in geometric prints and rich fabrics. Any collection that adds suede and velvet is a winner in our book. Fall 2016 was definitely menswear inspired but with a touch of femininity. A skirt in an autumnal plaid has a slit trimmed in leather making it flirty yet office appropriate. And flannel trousers paired with cozy knits and fur showed off a polished look. In addition to the luxurious outerwear shown in brocade and fur, the classic camel hair coat- a Brooks Brothers signature is shown in a new silhouette, while skirt and pant lengths varied to appeal to the newer and existing Brooks Brothers customer. This season also introduces eveningwear including a black velvet gown with a side slit paired with minimal accessories, two sharp tailored tuxedos: One that is cropped and the other at a traditional length. Or for the woman that prefers not to wear pants, a tuxedo dress.
