Over 7,600 Swarovski Crystals Sparkle Bloomingdale’s Holiday Windows

The upscale department store Bloomingdale’s is kicking off the holiday season in a grand way. In partnership with Swarovski, the Bloomingdale’s Holiday Windows pays tribute to 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film, The Greatest Showman. The iconic 59th Street Lexington Avenue windows draws music from the film to life in scenes glitzed with 7.6 million Swarovski crystals.

An unveiling was held just before Thanksgiving. Lexington Avenue was packed with a wowed crowd mesmerized by circus acts, and an appearance by actor/singer Zendaya. She stars as trapeze artist Anne Wheeler in the film as well as has a mini collection with Bloomingdales. In addition, the unveiling featured a special performance by Keala Settle, who plays the Bearded Lady in the film.

For The Greatest Showman holiday campaign, Bloomindale’s also enlisted several designers to create exclusive merchandise. Must have’s including a Marc Jacobs Snapshot leather camera bag, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker mesh high heel booties, The House of Sillage Greatest Showman Limited Edition fragrance for him and her, a Sanctuary Velvet Bomber Jacket, and capsule collections with Ted Baker and The Kooples. The Greatest Showman starting Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum arrives in theaters December 20.

It’s Showtime

The first window commences the show by drawing inspiration from The Greatest Showman’s song “From Now On”. The world’s tallest and smallest men are decked in Swarovski crystal-adorned hats, working the ticket booth for “The Greatest Windows on Lexington Avenue”.

The Greatest Show

The second window highlights the opening song of the movie, “The Greatest Show”. It features visionary showman P.T. Barnum in the circus ring introducing the oddities.

A Million Dreams

With the song “A Million Dreams”,  a forest of trees growing out of a run-down mansion is fashioned in garlands made of Swarovski crystals. Two mannequins completely adorned in Swarovski crystals represent floating shadows of circus performers.

Come Alive

This window depicts a scene inside the American Museum.  A larger than life carriage decorated in Swarovski crystals takes center stage of this window.

This Is Me

This is me celebrates the oddities in the circus coming together, with holiday trees covered in champagne glasses to set the scene.  A rotating spotlight focuses on each oddity giving them their moment to shine.

Rewrite The Stars

The last window ends with a magical display depicting a touching scene inside the big top where two characters from the film fall in love. He watches in admiration while she perches on a trapeze bar with the night sky twinkling behind them illuminated by over 800 Swarovski Moravian stars.
